What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Assisting our clients with protecting their assets by becoming a part of their risk management team and solving their most complex insurance problems.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
The opportunity to have led California’s largest workers’ compensation nurse case management firm. The experience allows me to deliver better cost containment for our clients.
What is your favorite book and why?
Great By Choice by Jim Collins - It addresses and explains how truly great companies differ from the merely good ones. It also supports and validates why First Foundation is great by choice.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
A former mentor once told me that time and tenacity are your friends. It always reminds me, not to rush and keep moving forward no matter what the circumstances may become.
Who do you respect most in the industry and why?
My former mentor and boss Ed Shumaker - he helped mold me into the insurance professional I am today. He reinforced my strengths by always stressing that putting a client’s interest first, will always lead to a successful and long-term relationship.
Keith has over 15 years of experience in commercial insurance, including several years as the Vice President of California’s largest workers compensation nurse case management company. This experience helps to identify, evaluate and solve his clients’ most complex insurance issues including claims. He believes that controlling the cost of a claim is just as important as the placement of the insurance program itself.
Keith attributes his success with clients to remaining hands-on and becoming part of the management team over the long-term. For this reason, he works with client’s that share his philosophy and desire a true risk management partnership. Keith has excelled in providing his services to all industries including transportation, distribution, manufacturing, retail, food, hospitality, construction, public works companies and more.
In his community work, Keith has been active with a number of professional and non-profit organizations including Rotary, SEMA, Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Keith received his Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton in Public Relations and is consistently pursuing additional insurance education and designations.
